My name is Niama Al-Nima and I’m a filmmaker based in Denver, Colorado. I graduated in 2021 with a BFA in Cinema Studies and Moving Image Arts from the University of Colorado Boulder.
I have worked on many creative and non-creative projects the past three years and have gained substantial experience in video production. I have worked with two CU based research centers and handled all phases of production including producing, cinematography, editing and gaffing.
Creatively speaking, my upbringing hugely influences the types of works that I’m usually drawn to. I was born in Baghdad, Iraq and moved to the United States when I was a teen. This makes me especially interested in exploring what it means to fully understand who you are, both personally and, more importantly, in the context of the world around you. I love stories about humans and I think stories allow us the opportunity to understand and relate to the most seemingly different people. Through participating in someone else’s story, you might discover something new about yourself, or about all of us.
I love connecting and collaborating with artists, leave a message and let’s chat!
